In Nobody Cares a number of fraternity “brothers” rape a female student, Jessica Winslow, simply because they can. They are confident that nobody outside their tight circle of entitled young men will care. Twenty years later, a private equity firm based in Texas threatens to destroy the law school where Jessica has rebuilt her life. The wealthy owners believe their pursuit of profit justifies whatever losses others may suffer. Whereas Jessica was helpless at that long-ago toga party in Florida, at the St. Andrews School of Law in Canada’s province of New Brunswick she is not alone. She and the faculty fight back. Lives are lost.
