A graduate of Canada’s Royal Military College, Rem had a varied career in the military, academics, politics, public service, and consulting. He turned to writing after a run (unsuccessful) for public office in Canada’s federal election of 2011. His first book was a non-fiction account of his campaign. His second book, self-published, was a novel about a retired military officer who caused the death of his wife during a PTSD event. To write the novel “Nobody Cares”, which is based in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, he and his wife moved to that historic little town.
